Audrey Hepburn's Mod Eye makeup Look

Have you ever watched How to steal a million starring Audrey Hepburn? After my 10th time watching this movie, I still can’t help but stare at her gorgeous mod eyes underneath the lace mask in the scene when she meets up with Peter O’Toole at the Ritz. All that glitters, the perfectly lined creased, plus plenty of lashes captured my attention in just the blink of an eye.

Backstage at Jean Paul Gaultier’s fall 2010 couture show, makeup artist Tom Pecheux recreated the mod look with a millennial twist winged black eye shadow, lined creases and a pair of false eyelashes applied to just the half outer corners of the eyelids. Here’s how to pull it off: First line your creases with black liquid liner, winging it out at the ends (and using scotch tape as a stencil for that angle to ensure your line is straight). Loads up on lots of mascara on both your top and bottom lashes

then follow with false lashes. You can get creative after that. Don’t be afraid of clumpy bottom lashes à la Jane Birkin and Twiggy. And to experiment with a more daring look for night, go for some glittery eye shadow just like Audrey.
