Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Becomes A Fashion Blogger !

Madonna’s eldest daughter has turned into a fashion blogger.
Lourdes Leon, also known as Lola, has started a blog as she and her mom gear up to present their new collection at Macy’s – Material Girl.
“Helluuur thurrrr, I’m Lola and this is my first blog entry so it’s kind of like ummmm,” the plucky teen wrote on her blog.
In her post, which included an adorable picture of the teenager in a blue dress with a white, almost spray-paint like design, Lola noted that she’s getting ready to turn 14, and that means a big change.
“I’ll be 14 in October, so I can’t wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair… THANK YOU MOTHER!!” she wrote.

Amanda Kerr For Prada

As photographed by Steve Meisel, model Miranda Kerr will be the face of Prada’s Autumn ad campaign, which takes its inspiration from what has become an important fashion trend this year–a look back on the dark side of the ’50s. This a big deal for Kerr as it’s a big marker in her slow but steady crossover from lad’s model to super model status.

Larry King is Stepping Down

Larry King, who interviewed statesmen and stars from a prime-time perch at CNN for 25 years but has faded in ratings and influence lately, said Tuesday that he will step down this fall from his nightly show.
“It’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders,” King said in a message sent to fans via Twitter. King said he will do occasional specials for CNN. He marked his 25th anniversary on the air this month and takes pride in a Guinness Book of World Records citation for hosting the longest-running show on the same network in the same time slot.

PS1 : Super-Sized

Pre-collections offer designers the opportunity to experiment and test out new ideas, but they’re also a good time to riff on the best sellers—the Resort collection spends a long time on the sales floor, after all.Jack and Lazaro of Proenza Schouler are doing the same with a bigger-is-better twist on the PS1. The new model comes in two sizes, a medium and a large (they’ll retail for $1,150 and $1,350, respectively, when they go on sale in December).

Giuseppe Zanotti For Vionnet

In addition to his own collection, Giuseppe Zanotti, at one time or another, has been responsible for shoes bearing the Balmain, Proenza Schouler, and Thakoon labels. Still, ask any stiletto lover and she’ll tell you that she doesn’t have enough of him in her life. Zanotti has recently signed on at Vionnet to collaborate with designer Rodolfo Paglialunga on a line for the storied brand. Here’s why we’re excited: On the phone today, he told us that he’s focused on fit, fine materials, and, most importantly, proportion. There aren’t any “crazy fabrics” or platforms in the 20 or so models he’s designed for Resort. Instead, he’s put the emphasis on leather and (echoing Paglialunga’s evening-focused lineup) silk. Our favorite is this black and marigold sandal sling-back, but there are ballerina flats and the now de rigueur kitten heels in the mix, too. Look for them at Saks and other Vionnet retail outlets come late Fall.

Gisele Tops Forbes Rich List

Barely a month goes by without another Hollywood actress being named as the face (hair and body) of the world's biggest cosmetics labels, the Forbes Supermodel Rich List 2010 proves that models are still very capable of holding their own when it comes to scoring those lucrative beauty campaigns. Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen tops the list for the sixth year running with annual earnings of $25 million, boosting high-profile fashion campaigns with the launch of her own natural skincare line, Sejaa this March. Hot on her heels, and ranked fifth place in the Forbes rich list, is Dutch model Doutzen Kroes, who retained her contract with L'Oreal, taking her earnings to $6 million. Meanwhile Natalia Vodianova, Daria Werbowy and American model Carolyn Murphy have been supplementing their high fashion - and high street - modelling work with campaigns for Guerlain and Calvin Klein fragrances, Lancôme and Estee Lauder respectively, raking in $13.5 million between them.

Embrace the 50s look!

The fifties was all about the feminine fashion figure, with icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor as the beauties of the decade. The key to the eras fashion and beauty, was to be alluring without vulgarity. The grunge movement of the 1980s was still far into the future, and the celebrated hourglass figure, full skirts and classic clean beauty was the idealised style.

Bold femininity epitomised 1950s makeup style, with bright eyes and alluring lips...

Makeup of the 1950s focused on high octane femininity, accentuating the eyes and eyelashes with bright pastels and winged eye liner, 1950s feminine glamour; beauties of the age Marylin Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor

Monaco's Prince Albert FINALLY proposes to his girlfriend !

Prince Albert of Monaco has proposed to South African former swimmer Charlene Wittstock - giving her a ring that more than makes up for his reputation as an eternal playboy.
The royal palace said in a statement that the engagement was announced today between the 52-year-old prince and 32-year-old Wittstock.

It does not indicate a planned wedding date for the pair, who have been dating for four years.
It does however raise hopes that she will finally provide the playboy ruler with an heir to the throne.
He already has children from two previous relationships – but under Monaco’s constitution neither can take the throne because they are ‘love children’.
Only 'direct and legitimate' descendants born within marriage are allowed to rule the tiny Mediterranean tax-haven.
Earlier this year a Monaco government source told Point de Vue magazine: 'Charlene has beauty and style, and we are all praying that she will ensure the royal succession in our principality.
'Albert has never settled down in the past, but knows that the time is now right to produce the next ruler of Monaco.'

Albert has dated some of the world's most famous and beautiful women, including Angie Everhart, Brooke Shields, and supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

Cat On a Hot Tin Roof!

A recent long, hot weekend in an unfortunately un-air-conditioned apartment had an oddly inspirational effect on us. As we lay on the couch, languishing in the heavy heat, we started thinking about how difficult it is to stay stylish in the face of humidity and high temperatures. Suddenly we were reminded of one of our favorite classic films—Cat on a Hot Tin Roof—which takes place in the sweltering South and features two ultra-cool stars: Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman. Though the 1958 box-office hit is set in steamy Mississippi, the cast manages to look coolly chic thanks to their boudoir-influenced outfits and lightweight, polished pieces. Happily these trends also happen to be exactly what's on the market right now, making this film the perfect selection for June's Currently Channeling!
