Meet Oprah Winfrey's Half-Sister

She was the family secret that Oprah Winfrey called "one of the greatest surprises" of her life.

But on Monday's Oprah Winfrey Show, Patricia, the media mogul's half-sister, stepped forward in a very public way.

During the show, Winfrey revealed that she learned she had a sister last October, saying the discovery "left me speechless." She was 9-years-old and living with her father in Tennessee when her mother, Vernita Lee, became pregnant with a daughter, Patricia, who was given up for adoption. Born in 1963 in Milwaukee, Patricia would later live in a series of foster homes until the age of 7. She was then adopted, but said her childhood was "difficult."

Tracing her roots took years of perseverance but Patricia finally discovered her mother – and her half-sister.

"I received this big old package of information in the mail," Patricia said during Monday's interview. "And it has all of my birth information in it. I was like, 'Oh my god. I have a family.' "

Natalie Portman’s One-of-a-Kind Engagement Ring

When it came to designing Natalie Portman‘s engagement ring, the star’s choreographer fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, relied on his leading lady and the art of ballet for inspiration. Looking to create a one-of-a-kind love token to reflect Portman’s unique sensibilities, Millepied called on former dancer pal and jewelry designer Jamie Wolf. “Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right,” Wolf explained to InStyle. “We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie.” The glittering diamond-encrusted design centers around an antique diamond, surrounded by certified conflict-free stones and made of recycled platinum  thus appealing to Portman’s earth-friendly and vegan lifestyle. And much like Millepied, the designer always incorporates her own dance discipline into her pieces. “My career with the New York City Ballet definitely influenced the aesthetics of my designs; everything I love has a distinct femininity to it, a certain ease and grace,” Wolf told the magazine in November. “To quote one of my favorite ballet teachers, ‘No one wants to see how hard you are working.’” We’re sure the Oscar nominated bride-to-be can relate to that! 3 Eyeliner looks provided by make up experts..

Eyeliner is a makeup basic!! but don't think you have to be relegated to just one type. It's one of makeup's most adaptable staples a daytime and nighttime essential that instantly transforms your look by creating shape and giving definition to your peepers. Ready to master the art of eyeliner in 2011? here's how to flip the switch on your regular routine and inject some drama, softness, or polish into your look with three easy eyeliner tips.

On the Inside
—Lining the waterline, or inner rim of the eye, adds intensity and extra definition, and creates the illusion of a thicker, fuller lash line. Gilbert Soliz, Lead Artist for the Sephora PRO Beauty Team, tells us how.

The Tips: "Start with a sharpened pencil, but rub it down a bit on the back of your hand so it's not too sharp. While looking in the mirror, tilt your chin up a few inches and use a finger on your free had to press lightly inward and up on your lid (or down, depending on which lid you're lining) to flip the lash line forward and expose the roots of your lashes. Using a smudge-proof or waterproof liner, wiggle your pencil in between the roots of the lashes from inner to outer corner. You want to deposit plenty of color, so the product adheres and sits well at the root of the lashes, but don't go too far into the waterline, or the product vanishes when coming in contact with the eye."

Smudge It Out—A blended, smudged line is the easiest way to make your eyes pop and finish your overall look. Keep it light for an effortless, low-key vibe, or for more drama, pile on the liner and go extra smoky. MAC Senior Artist, Keri Blair, shows us a trick to making the look last.

The Tips:
"Start by lining inside the waterline or very close to the lash line with a black pencil. Then use the pencil to apply small dots as close to the lash line as possible. Take a soft, tapered brush dipped in a neutral eyeshadow and gently blend the pencil line out with the tip of the brush for a soft, smudgy look. Setting the pencil with eyeshadow helps keep your artfully smudged line in place."

Just Wing It—A thick, defined line with a winged embellishment creates the ideal almond-shaped eye. It's what you get when you mix elegance and retro with a dash of sex kitten. M.A.C.'s Keri Blair weighs in:

The Tips: "I find that a gel-based liner is easier to control than a liquid liner. However, liquid liner will often look a bit more dramatic (with liquid liner, start by lightly tracing a line with a pencil, then go over it with liquid liner). Using the side or length of an eyeliner brush, apply gel liner starting near the inner corner of the eye as close to the lash line as possible. (It's best to use a freestanding mirror so you can look down into the mirror with a stretched out lid). For a more intense look, thicken the line toward the outer edge of the eye. Next, starting on the outer edge of your line, slightly extend and wing out your eye liner. For the feline-inspired look without an the retro feel, pick a gel liner in a rich, gem-colored shade instead of the typical black." Easily fix any liquid or gel liner mistakes with snap-and-go makeup remover buds.

Honey Facial Mask Recipe

Who knew the honey sitting in your kitchen cabinet was your best resource for fighting skin care woes like pimples and dry skin? It's true, honey facial mask recipes have been used by generations of the most beauty astute women because honey moisturizes skin naturally, and it is a natural bacteria fighter for stubborn pimples. Honey also happens to be a great resource for those with sensitive skin who might have negative reactions to ingredient-loaded beauty products, and it is packed with antioxidants for those looking to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face.

Here are a couple ways you can use nature's sweetest resource:

Honey Facial Mask Recipe for Dry, Flaky Skin

Ingredients:
1 raw egg
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
Mix together egg and honey. Spread onto your face and neck and let sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with tepid water.

Honey Facial Mask Recipe for Acne

Simply apply a scoop of honey to clean skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

To use honey as a spot treatment on pimples you picked at, put a drop of honey on your finger and gently pat it onto the infected area before bed. Cover overnight with a bandage. The honey will keep your skin and the oozing area sterile by fighting off bacteria. And as a bonus it will accelerate the healing process.

Golden globes hottest trends

Green: Celebs including Angelina Jolie (in Versace), Mila Kunis (in Vera Wang), Catherine Zeta-Jones (in Monique Lhuillier) and Elisabeth Moss (in Donna Karan) select the punchy hue for an eye-catching style statement.

Light Pink: Lea Michele beguiles in pleated Oscar de la Renta while Sandra Bullock offsets blunt bangs with an embellished Jenny Packham. Megan Fox is the ultimate siren in blushy Armani Privé, and Scarlett Johansson is demure in a retro, shimmering Elie Saab.

Minimalist: Emma Stone and Claire Danes lend a pop of color to the red carpet in coral and pink Calvin Klein Collection sheaths, while Michelle Pfeiffer is timeless in bold cobalt by Roland Mouret – all without a sequin or bead in sight.
