Valentino for GAP

We’re excessively excited about Valentino and Gap’s collaboration! it’s a khaki ruffled extravaganza. I have a strange affection for the ruffle, if I were to describe myself as a tailoring technique it would be as the ruffle  excessive, fancy and a little deranged. Not that there’s anything excessive about the Valentino ruffle  it’s chic and refined, my favourite look being the lightly ruffled trouser with a crisp white shirt.

HOPE in a jar

Beauty brand Philosophy got a huge boost today, thanks to Oprah's Ultimate Favorite Things episode. In 2005, Oprah gave Philosophy's Hope in a Jar moisturizer to an audience of Hurricane Katrina volunteers. That's enough of a ringing endorsement, but on today's show, she went one step further. "It's hands down the best moisturizer I've ever used," she said. This year, Philosophy has created special packaging featuring an adorable photo of baby Oprah on the front. It's a limited-edition thing, so if you've got to have it, jump on it. Like most of Oprah's picks, it's bound to sell out.

Revlon Fire & Ice Super Lustrous

This holiday season, Revlon is bringing classic retro glamour back to lips and finger tips.

In 1952 when the beauty giant launched the Fire & Ice collection ad campaign featuring "It Girl" Dorian Leigh, the model's jet-black hair and striking red lips and nails set against a dazzling silver sequined gown triggered a hailstorm of copycats. So popular was the hue gracing Leigh's lips, that the featured Fire & Ice shade continues to be a top-selling Revlon shade.

Now the brand is bringing back the other lips-and-tips pairings with three new Super Lustrous Lipsticks and Nail Enamels meant to recreate the luxe femininity of the original shades.

Jessica Biel has been tapped to model a modern take on the iconic ad, with more touchably soft makeup and waves and a bateau-neck liquid beaded gown accompanied by a plumage-esque, sateen red shawl.

The new Revlon lip shades include the aforementioned orange Siren, a fuchsia pink Temptress, a creamy, soft pink Demure, and the existing Fire & Ice red with the matching nail polishes , which will be packaged in a limited-edition vintage case that looks like it came straight out of an old Hollywood makeup traincase.

Going Dark This Winter?

"Women who choose a darker color create more contrast, giving the hair a fuller look with more definition and texture," says Ludovic Audesson, celebrity colorist at Pierre Michel Salon in New York City. "In addition to being very chic, dark hair is not trendy or a fad it's really more of a statement!" Seriously highlights are so over right now! celebs are goin all dark and sexy ;) The ideal woman to have dark hair is one with a dark or olive complexion and dark or very light eyes, according to Audesson. Age can be a factor, too. "Younger to middle aged woman look better with very dark hair," he says. Also, women who are naturally darker  including Hispanics, Asians or Middle Easterners should lean towards the darker shades of hair color as their natural complexion complements it better. But just like being a blonde is not for everyone, neither is being a brunette. If you have a very fair complexion or if your face has a lot of wrinkles or has been burned by the sun, go for a lighter hue.

Bobbi Brown Introduces ydrating Skincare

Since the weather started to cool off here in Dubai I've realized that my skin has gone really dry! :( But Luckily and Thanks to Bobbi Brown we can tackle cold-weather days with her new line of super-moisturizing, soothing products that work without making skin look and feel greasy.

The Hydrating Skincare collection includes a face tonic, gel cream, face cream, and intense night cream and is concocted with what Brown has dubbed an "enriched mineral water blend." It's mixture of nutrients found in healthy skin: zinc aids in tissue repair, calcium helps to protect the skin barrier, copper boosts collagen and elastin production, iron carries oxygen to the cells, magnesium assists in DNA production and decreases irritation, and potassium helps skin cell growth.

Each product also contains a plethora of other skin goodies like green tea, Vitamins A, C and E, and aloe, cucumber, and shea butter.

Doutzen Kroes & Husband Sunnery James

First look at the beautiful bride and her strapping husband on their wedding day! Doutzen’s simply glowing with gorgeousness and excitement!
Over the weekend, Doutzen Kroes and her boyfriend Sunnery James showed their love and devotion to each other by getting married! In front of 30 close friends and family in her hometown of Eastermar, Doutzen and Sunnery began their life together as husband and wife. For the ceremony, Doutzen chose to wear a white strapless wedding dress by Spanish designer Pronovias, complete with a veil accenting her loose curls. Sunnery proposed in January and the couple announced that they were expecting their first child in July. While the newly married pair will be spending their honeymoon vacationing on an island north of Madagascar, Doutzen’s bringing her charitable spirit to the idea of gifts. Instead of weding presents, she’s asked that donations be made to dance4life or the World Wildlife Fund.
I love her dress, she looks beautiful <3

Anna Dello Russo Hearts Lanvin for H&M!

the king of the castle

Alber Elbaz is king of the castle or at least, his puppet alter ego is. The Lanvin designer on Wednesday cut the ribbon on the Christmas window displays at the Paris flagship of Printemps, which feature his ’n’ hers puppets based on his sketches dancing in a French chateau setting. The male puppets wear the designer’s trademark tuxedo and bow tie, while the female characters are outfitted in the gold lamé dress with a ruby heart that closed his fall collection. Actors dressed as 18th-century nobility drew up in horse-drawn carriages at the unveiling ceremony, where Elbaz was joined by British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, Printemps owner Maurizio Borletti and Paolo de Cesare, chairman and chief executive officer of the department store chain. “It’s quite bizarre to see your cartoon in the windows dancing and running. I was just told that each puppet will be running in two months about 200 kilometers, so I’m thinking, God, how many calories are they burning there?” Elbaz quipped afterward. Just don’t expect him to start wearing a crown. “I always was afraid to be the designer of the moment. I’m not. I’m not Miss America and I’m not Miss France that is chosen for a year,” he said. “I think that my job is not being famous. This is not a job, this is maybe a result. What I do is make women and men look good — that’s my job, and that’s what’s more important.”
