Heidi Klum to Launch Jewelry Line With QVC!

Heidi Klum is adding to her surprisingly popular lifestyle brand with a costume jewelry collection which will be launched via QVC on September 8th. In 2006, Klum launched her first attempt with a fine jewelry line also sold through QVC. That line was discontinued in 2009, after a lawsuit by Van Cleef & Arpels, which alleged one of Klum’s designs were a ripoff of its signature Alhambra Collection clover motif. The suit was settled in 2008, but as part of that settlement, Klum was forced to stop selling the line by June of 2009.
Second time’s a charm! The former model’s latest jewelry venture, which is called Wildlife by Heidi Klum, includes thirty five varied pieces from cocktail rings to charm bracelets, and ranges from $30-$200 a piece. Because Klum’s first line sold as well as it did (before its court ordered extinction,) QVC has already ordered next season’s collection of Wildlife and expects it to do just as well as this one.
In addition to Klum’s shoewear lines, clothing line, long-running television show, and massive lifestyle website, she’s also launching her own signature scent (cue the eyerolling!) in conjunction with Coty this September.

According to Heidi, she was on a trip to Italy when she was inspired by the clover-shaped design and used this shape as a base for her new line of jewelry. This line included diamond studded pendants, bracelets, clover-shaped gold earrings, silver knotted clover earrings, and more. Van Cleef & Apparels immediately filed suit against Klum and Mouawad when the line was introduced featuring this special clover shape. According to Van Cleef & Arpels, Klum and Mouawad stole the specific clover motif that they had already copyrighted.
